Northern Haus – you’ve likely heard about this buzzing new venue (and for good reason)! Nestled into the heart of Door County, Northern Haus is set on 30 acres and is a wonderfully neutral, but well-designed canvas. This past season I made my way to Door County to meet the owners/dreamers, Sara + Nick, and capture the space as the finishing touches were being placed!

Given that I’m busy renovating a modern farmhouse myself, can you imagine my excitement as I walked through these doors? The aesthetic of this space is an absolute dream (especially from the lens of a photographer) with neutral white walls, modern black and gold details, and pops of color like the green velvet upholstered sofa in the luxury suite.

Stepping outside, follow the path through the tall grassy meadow and you’ll find a 10 acre ‘forest retreat’. Tucked in the woods with sunlight streaming through, this will be the most serene and intimate setting for any couple to exchange vows. Can you envision it?! This space was being completed during my time at the venue, but I look forward to seeing it come to life. Heading back towards the venue, guests can enjoy cocktails (served through a pass-through bar – how cool is that?) on the patio while mingling in classic rocking chairs.

My time photographing this space was a dream, but it was even more incredible to connect with Sara + Nick (perhaps over a glass of champagne) and learn about the heart behind it all. The vision stemmed from their own wedding planning process in the area and the need they saw for a space like this one. Fast forward several years (and and incredible amount of planning) later and Northern Haus was born!

I’m already looking forward to to seeing my brides + grooms bring this space to life as I head back for several 2020 weddings!
